Back to school!
I just completed (and am celebrating) my first full week of the new school year! I am VERY excited about the classes I am teaching. I am co-teaching a seminar on media literacy which focuses on video projects with the seniors and juniors. I am also psyched to meet all of the freshman - there are A LOT of them! They seem to be genuinely interested in web development, and I sense that we will have a very fun year together. Its been bumpy - getting a new schedule and a new roster every day! I hope I have finalized room assignments by Monday!! Being flexible and patient is critical in education, I think, but more importantly, you GOTTA have a sense of humor! In the end, the relationships and discussions and ideas I share with the students is the most rewarding part.
I am excited about my fourth year at TechBoston Academy. I have my own computer lab to manage and am teaching Web Essentials to 9th graders, Advanced Web Development to 10th graders, and a Media Seminar class to Juniors and Seniors. Phew! I better go to bed!
Time to rest up now!
