About me
Welcome!
Hi there!
My name is Lisa Kate Radden, but I am also known as Professor Radden, Miss Radden, Miss Um, or usually just plain Miss to my students.
I teach media and work-force skills to middle, high school and community college students, and support teachers in integrating technology into their classrooms. See education.lkrdesign.com for a portfolio of my publications and projects as a licensed IT specialist. I teach web design, portfolio production, media literacy, animation, and digital video production to urban youth at TechBoston Academy, a Boston Public School located in Dorchester, Mass. Visit MsRaddensClasses.com for course descriptions and assignments. I integrate work-force standards, ISTE standards and service-learning opportunites into my curricula, in an effort to prepare teens for the 21st century workforce and to empower them to become responsible and responsive citizens in their on and offline communities.
I am a freelance web designer and founder of LKR design, and I’m an overall web geek! I provide consulting services such as web design, curriculum design, technology integration, strategic planning, adult education, and after-school/summer programming.
I am from…
…a family of 2 now retired Boston Public School teachers (it must be in the blood!), 3 girls, 2 cocker spaniels (one’s a boy, just for Dad!), Westwood, Mass, and English and Irish ancestors. ( Watch my home movie. Aaaaw! )
I like to play soccer, jog, and watch any and all sports games, but especially Notre Dame football and my local Boston teams. I enjoy the theatre & the orchestra, and I frequent art museums around the city. I love to drive my mini Cooper anywhere, and travel as much as possible -
Ireland is next! I’m a huge Springsteen fan and have seen a variety of artists live in concert. I write offline and keep up a sketchbook, but spend most of my creative time on the web and in new media. I look at emerging technologies through the lens of an educator. I am currently in the final year of my ALM ET program at the Harvard Extension School, in an effort to earn a Masters in Educational Technologies. I am focusing on civic media production among urban youth in the Boston Public Schools.
