About me

Welcome!

My name is Lisa Kate Radden, and I am the author of this site.

I teach 21st century skills and knowledge to K-12 and community college students, and support teachers in integrating technology into their classrooms. See education.lkrdesign.com for a portfolio of my publications and projects as a licensed IT specialist. I teach web design, portfolio production, media literacy, animation, online ethics, and digital video production to our Boston Public youth. I integrate work-force standards, ISTE standards and service-learning opportunities into my curricula, in an effort to prepare our youth for the 21st century workforce and to empower them to become responsible and responsive citizens in their on and offline communities.

I am a freelance web designer and founder of LKR design, and I’m an overall web geek! I provide consulting services such as web design, curriculum design, technology integration, strategic planning, adult education, and after-school/summer programming.

I am from…

…a family of two now retired Boston Public School teachers, two sisters, the town of Westwood, Mass, and English and Irish ancestors.

Interests & Activities

Notre Dame, our MotherI like to play soccer, jog, and watch any and all sports games, but especially Notre Dame football and my local Boston teams. I enjoy the theatre and the orchestra, and my favorite local art museum is the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum.  I like to look at emerging technologies through the lens of an educator and ask – how can this be applied in the classroom to improve teaching and learning?

I completed my Masters degree in the ALM ET program at the Harvard Extension School in June 2009, graduating with a Masters in Educational TechnologiRegretes. I was honored with the Dean’s Prize for Best Thesis and shared my research findings at the public Thesis Forum. My topic focused on civic media production among urban youth in the Boston Public Schools, specifically on the connection between media making curricula and the development of an adolescent’s understanding of good citizenship.
