My Role : As a Citizen Schools teacher, I taught the WiredWoods curriculum to nine 6th graders. We met every Thursday after school for ten weeks and built the school's first web site! Students learned digital photography, Adobe Photoshop Elements, HTML, and how to plan and produce a web site for a client.

My Role : As an invited workshop instructor, I ran two 1.5 hour sessions with eight middle school girls. In the morning, the girls were taught how to tell a fictional story by manipulating photographs. Using Adobe Photoshop, each girl combined an image taken of themselves with an image of a place they had never been before, and were able to create “realistic” photographs. In the afternoon, the girls returned and learned how to change the appearance of a model using tools in Photoshop. At the end of the day, each girl had developed a “critical eye” of the images in the media they are exposed to eveyr day, and were able to question the validity of the advertisements and the reality of the portrayal of models in magazines during a group discussion.

My Role : I ran a three day workshop on web design to middle school students participating in an overnight leadership conference. The students built group web sites about leadership using HTML, digital photography, and Adobe Photoshop.

My Role : As a Program Specialist in a "log cabin" computer lab at Camp Wing, I helped middle school campers build a group web site using Adobe Photoshop, HTML, Adobe GoLive, and digital photography in 6 days.
